BIOSKETCH

Claudia earned her Bachelor’ Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Techniques in 2010 from the University of Palermo. In 2012, she obtained a fist-level Master Degree in Healthcare Management for Coordination Functions from IULM University. Her professional career began in 2011 at the Regional Reference Center for Multiple Sclerosis (CRESM), in Orbassano (Turin). There, she was involved inn biochemical and molecular analyses for monitoring patients with multiple sclerosis. In 2014, she returned to Palermo thanks to a scholarship funded by a joint project (ISPEMI) between Fondazione Ri.MED and IRCCS ISMETT. This allowed her to acquire new knowledge in the field of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Quality Control, and to further develop her skills in cellular and molecular biology, and immunotherapy. She also participated in the isolation for pancreatic islets for transplantation. In 2026, she was hired by Fondazione Ri.MED as a laboratory technician.

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES

Claudia provides her support to various projects within the Regenerative Medicine and Immunotherapy Unit of Fondazione Ri.MED, located within the IRCC ISMETT. Specifically, she contributes to the projects of Cinzia Chinnici, Ester Badami, Simone Scilabra and Mariangela Pampalone. Furthermore, she actively collaborates with the researchers at IRCCS ISMETT. In the past, she focused on cellular and molecular biology as well as immunotherapy; today, her primary responsibilities involve molecular biology. Her technical skills include the isolation and characterization of extracellular vesicles, cell cultures, luminescence assays, nucleic acids extraction and quantification, gene expression analysis using TaqMan RNA assays, real-time PCR, digital droplet PCR, microRNA expression analysis using TaqMan microRNA assays, Next Generation Sequencing and Sigle-Cell analysis.
