Structural Biology Laboratory Technician
emonaca@fondazionerimed.com

Biography

Elisa Monaca received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences in 2013 from the University of Insubria (Italy) and her Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Catania (Italy) in 2016. Since 2017, Elisa is lab technician of the Structural Biology and Biophysics group of the Ri.MED Foundation

Scientific Activity

Elisa provides assistance to various research projects of the Structural Biology and Biophysics group, as well as managing all activities supporting the group (management of consumables, instrumentation maintenance, preparation of common reagents). Her technical skills include cloning techniques, preparation of recombinant proteins, structural characterization of proteins (circular dichroism and nuclear magnetic resonance), and biophysical techniques for the characterization of protein-protein interactions (calorimetry and interferometry).
