Cenni biografici

Marco Correnti gained his Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering in October 2024 from the University of Palermo, Italy, with a dissertation titled: “Experimental Analysis Using Full-Field Techniques of the Pressures Exerted by Self-Expanding Transcatheter Heart Valves”.

From November 2024 to January 2025, he undertook research funded by a grant at the Ri.MED Foundation, contributing to a project focused on predicting thromboembolic risk through machine learning techniques.

He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Palermo, Italy, collaborating with the Ri.MED Foundation within the experimental domain, with a particular emphasis on in-vitro fluid dynamics analysis employing Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) methodology.

Attività Scientifica

Marco’s project focuses on investigating the haemodynamic alterations introduced by biomedical devices through the application of Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) techniques. The aim is to experimentally validate existing numerical models and enhance the understanding of fluid dynamic behaviours in pathological and post-treatment scenarios.  The study seeks to improve the understanding of haemodynamic phenomena related to cardiovascular diseases and treatments, providing experimental data valuable for optimising therapeutic solutions.
