Cenni biografici
Dr. Marco Bonanno received his master’s degree in “Biotechnologies for Industry and Scientific Research” in 2009, at the University of Palermo. He graduated with full grade and honor with a thesis entitled “Expression Analysis of recombinant lentiviral vector for the B-globin gene in human and murine cells”. In 2011, he started a PhD in cellular and developmental biology in the molecular, cellular and physiopathology laboratory of Prof. Giorgio Stassi in Palermo in collaboration with the University Sapienza of Rome. In 2015 he completed his PhD studies, with a thesis entitled “Transformation of thyroid stem cells in cancer stem cells”. Afterwards he spent a Post doc period at the IMBM (Institute for Microbial Biotechnology & Metagenomics) of Cape Town and he worked in the company “Monasterium Laboratory: Hair and Skin solutions GmbH” in Münster.
Attività Scientifica
Since June 2024, he is part of the Advanced Data Analysis group of the Ri.MED Foundation. He supports the group in wet-lab experimental activities, like nucleic acid manipulation, library creation and NGS data acquisition with Oxford Nanopore and Illumina technologies.
