The “PAF!” event took place in Carini on Friday 1 September 2023 from 6.00pm to 8.00pm, a market exhibition with cultural and recreational events with a great public participation in the last days of summer. The RiMED Foundation – by this time synonymous of scientific research – could not be abstent!
The Laboratory was structured in 2 parts: an introduction on molecular biology and a focus on DNA, and the fun practical workshop.
The Ri.MED experimental lab was very successful, 60 children participated: all available places were sold-out! Thanks to our wonderful science communicators Anna Paola Carreca, Giovanna Frazziano, Maria Agnese Morando and Ugo Perricone, who were able to involve, interest and entertain all children struggling with their first scientific experiment: the extraction of DNA from bananas.
Being able to observe the famous helix-shaped filaments with their own eyes, was an exciting discovery for the children!
