On Friday, 27 September 2024, a team of researchers from RiMED and ISMETT set up the “Full Lungs” stand during Sharper – European Night of Researchers, a public event promoted by the European Union dedicated to scientific dissemination and playful learning. It takes place every year on the last Friday in September and involves over 30 European countries and more than 300 cities. Ri.MED and ISMETT organized their own event in Palermo.
Thanks to a memory game, boards and a microscope the participants of the stand saw closely research and care to give breathing to the lung immune system. Researchers spoke about the effects of smoking on lung cells and their work to improve lives for those who suffer daily from this addiction.
A special thanks to the public that overwhelmed us with their enthusiasm and all staff involved: Chiara Cipollina, Simone D. Scilabra, Vitale Miceli, Agnese La Mensa, Lara Di Leonardo, Margot Lo Pinto, Elisabetta Scalia, Rosaria Tinnirello, Nadia Consiglio, Chiara Maringhini, Giuseppe Naselli, Riccardo Lucentini, Allegra Gentile.
