Cenni biografici
Graduated in Biotechnology from the University of Ferrara in 2021, with a thesis entitled “New methods for the identification of antibiotic resistance determinants in mobile genetic elements in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)”. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
During the Master’s program, he deepened his knowledge of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, with a particular focus on transcriptome analysis.
As part of his curricular internship at the Advanced Data Analysis group of the Ri.MED Foundation, he was involved in RNA library preparation from senescent cells and the subsequent bioinformatic analysis of data generated using Oxford Nanopore technology. The aim of the project was to identify novel transcript isoforms resulting from alternative splicing events and to investigate their differential usage in specific biological contexts.
Attività Scientifica
Riccardo Mitra is involved in the Castor&Pollux project, where he will be responsible for standardizing experimental pipelines for scRNA-seq and bulk RNA-seq analyses.
