23 March 2026

Fondazione Ri.MED participates in BIO-Europe Spring 2026 through the PerfeTTO Network, which is attending the event to promote Italian innovation in the Life Sciences sector.

The event, taking place in Lisbon from March 23 to 25, 2026, is one of Europe’s leading partnering conferences and brings together thousands of representatives from the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, investors, universities, and research centers from over 50 countries, with the aim of fostering strategic collaborations, licensing agreements, and investment opportunities in the biomedical field.

Representing Fondazione Ri.MED in Lisbon within the Network is Sebastiano Carrubba from the IP & Technology Transfer Office, contributing to strengthening the Foundation’s presence in leading international innovation ecosystems and promoting dialogue between scientific research, industry, and investors.

The PerfeTTO Network, which brings together 54 organizations including hospitals, universities, and research centers across Italy, promotes the development and enhancement of scientific expertise in the Life Sciences sector, supports technology transfer, and fosters engagement with industry and financial stakeholders.

PerfeTTO is present at BIO-Europe Spring at Hall 2 – Stand 81B. During the event, investors, companies, and international stakeholders have the opportunity to explore the Technology Catalog, which includes over 200 patents and validated technologies from the 54 partner organizations. These represent a curated selection of the research and innovation assets developed within the Network and are representative, though not exhaustive, of the overall portfolio.
The catalog reflects a significant portion of Italian biomedical research and is organized into 19 therapeutic areas, including oncology, cardiology, neurology, and gastroenterology, as well as cross-target technologies with applications across multiple clinical fields. In particular, it includes 58 oncology technologies, 24 in cardiology, 24 in neurology, and 13 in gastroenterology, along with additional innovative solutions in other Life Sciences domains, confirming the Network’s strong focus on high-impact research.

PerfeTTO
PerfeTTO is the first Italian network of Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) in the Life Sciences sector, funded with a total investment of €30 million, of which €15 million has been provided by the Ministry of Health through the National Complementary Plan (PNC) under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Health Innovative Ecosystem E.3. The project—organized as a Temporary Joint Association (ATS)—brings together 54 leading public and private institutions, including IRCCS hospitals, universities, foundations, and hospital organizations. Its mission is to promote a national culture of technology transfer in the Life Sciences, bridging the gap between research and society and contributing to scientific, social, and cultural growth.
